Sanskrit is at the centre of my life and inspires me in so many different ways.

I hope I can share that inspiration in whatever way is right for you.

My Story...

Get to
Know Me

I’ve been teaching Sanskrit to adults and children since 1996, so I’ve clocked up thousands of hours of experience.  My approach is systematic, open, and fun, and I feel it is very important to learn in a safe space where students can happily make mistakes.

I’ve co-authored the St James series of Sanskrit textbooks which reflects my step-by-step approach.

Reviews Elena Jessup Third Eye Sanskrit language teacher yoga elder

"Elena is one of the most patient and encouraging teachers I have ever had the good fortune to work with. Completely removed from an egoistic teaching style, she is incredibly knowledgeable, and encouraging and puts you at ease during every lesson. Despite the academic nature of the subject, I feel inspired and refreshed at the end of every session. I can't recommend her highly enough!"

Alexandra, Sound Healer, UK

“Elena is a brilliant Sanskrit teacher. Her style is professional and supportive. She follows a structured teaching program at a steady pace. The lesson includes chanting sacred texts as well as providing a solid foundation to this beautiful language and culture … She gently encourages participation without putting you on the spot which makes for an enjoyable learning experience.”

Penny, Ayurveda practitioner, UK

“Elena's passion for Sanskrit is contagious! She completely removes any fear you may have about embarking on Sanskrit studies and delivers classes that are informed, accessible and thoroughly enjoyable. Who knew noun declensions would be so rewarding! Elena has gradually taught me to start unlocking Sanskrit texts for myself and this has been an invaluable skill for my own spiritual development. I can't recommend Elena and her Sanskrit classes enough!”

John, Yoga teacher, UK

“I am now able to write, read, and translate Sanskrit so much better than previous courses I’ve taken, and in a shorter timeframe. This is thanks to Elena’s brilliant teaching. She takes a very difficult language and makes it accessible and fun to learn. Time flies in her lessons and I look forward to her class every week. Elena’s passion for the subject is infectious and I thoroughly enjoy studying with her.”

Kathryn, Yoga teacher, UK
