This course continues where Intermediate Sanskrit for Seekers leaves off. We will revisit and revitalise what we have learned in the Intermediate course while also building up your grammar, vocabulary and translation skills. In the last term of the course we will begin sandhi. We will also be chanting the GCSE Bhagavad Gītā set texts and learning their grammar breakdown. The ultimate aim of this course is that you will be able to translate Sanskrit texts for yourself. There will be an hour and a half of homework every week. This course runs for a year, divided into three terms of ten hour-long live lessons on Zoom. All sessions will be recorded. Lessons will be on Thursday evenings from 7-8 pm UK time. Term 1: Jan. 16 2025-Mar. 27 2025 with Feb. 13 half term Term 2: Apr. 24 2025 - Jul. 3 2025 with May 29 half term Term 3: Sept. 18 2025 - Nov. 27 2025 with Oct. 30 half term (Half term dates may change if necessary) Prerequisite: Reading the Devanāgarī script and experience of basic Sanskrit grammar.
